We are excited to celebrate the sale of our eight millionth vehicle sold today – an automotive retail first. In fact, we gave it away to a very lucky and very happy customer. Wendy Byrd Kang of Sterling, Va. Wendy, a United States Army Civil Affairs Specialist, purchased a 2010 Honda Fit at Honda of Dulles, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Wendy joined the U.S. Army in 2007 and was deployed to Kabul in 2010 for 11 months. Upon her return, she enrolled in nursing school so that she can join the Army Nurse Corps and continue her military service. The vehicle was sold by Kris Hunter, who joined AutoNation/Honda of Dulles in 2006 as a lot attendant. Kris has developed over the past five years and today is a member of our sales team.

Selling eight million cars and trucks is an incredible achievement, but we couldn’t have done it alone. We’d like to thank all of our customers and the over 19,000 AutoNation associates for helping us reach this monumental accomplishment.
“AutoNation was founded with one goal — to change the way America buys and services their cars and trucks. It’s not something we can do overnight. But, everyday we’re working with customers to create a better automotive experience. We thank each and every one of our customers on helping us reach this milestone,” stated Mike Jackson, Chairman and CEO of AutoNation.
