Unexpected roadside assistance in Dallas

This post is part of an ongoing series that highlights our associates who have gone above and beyond to deliver memorable customer experiences. Read more about our quarterly Chairman’s Award.

BMW of Dallas General Manager Ted Datri, left, congratulates Rick Griffin for going above and beyond for AutoNation customers.

Picture yourself on the way to work, stranded on the side of a busy highway during the peak of rush hour. You’re sweating because the temperatures in Dallas are usually hotter than 80 degrees with 60 percent humidity or more. It’s hot, you’re late and your car won’t start.

One of our customers found themselves in this very predicament recently. Rick Griffin, a Call Center Associate at BMW of Dallas witnessed it first hand and treated it as an opportunity to help out a stranger.

Rick was on his way to work on I-75 when he noticed a 2008 BMW M6 broken down on the side of the road. Rick pulled over to assist the owner but was unable to get the car to start. Rick insisted the customer sit in his car so they could stay cool while Rick called roadside assistance on their behalf.  He waited with the customer until a tow truck arrived. Once the BMW M6 was loaded, Rick gave the customer a lift to the BMW of Dallas service department.

We’re proud to have Rick as part of the AutoNation family. Congratulations and thank you for going above and beyond for our customers!
